For most of the year, the Sabarmati was not a river.
Markets on the bed. Kites over water that wasn't there. Five hundred years of a city stacked on top of an absence, until Ahmedabad decided the river should run and made it run.
Build first. Fill it later. It is how this city works, and it is roughly what happens to a delegate in hour six of day one.

When and where is Sabarmati MUN 2026?
Sabarmati MUN, Edition One, runs on 31 October and 01 November 2026 at Silver Oak University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Both days are in person, and the first session opens at 9 am on 31 October.
Who can take part in Sabarmati MUN?
Students in classes 7 to 12 and undergraduates from any college or university can register, from complete first timers to experienced delegates. There is no minimum number of conferences, and no entrance test. Delegates under eighteen register with the consent of a parent or guardian.
How much does it cost to attend Sabarmati MUN?
Delegate registration runs in windows. Priority Allotment is INR 1,999 until 20 October 2026, and Final Allotment is INR 2,299 until 29 October 2026. The fee covers both days of committee, the delegate kit, certificate, lunch and refreshments on both days, and the social evening.
Which committees are running at Sabarmati MUN?
Six: the UN Human Rights Council, the UN Commission on the Status of Women, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Lok Sabha, the All India Political Parties Meet, and International Press. Every agenda is published on the committees page.
Is accommodation available for delegates travelling to Ahmedabad?
Yes. The stay package is INR 2,200 for two nights, checking in 30 October and out 01 November, and includes airport or station transfers, dinner on both nights and breakfast on both mornings. It is added to your registration and does not include the delegate fee.
Can a school or college send an official delegation?
Yes. Five or more delegates from the same institution are handled as an official delegation, with committee seats spread across rooms, a single point of contact and one payment. Write to sabarmatimun@gmail.com with your institution and rough numbers and a person will take it from there.
Do I need experience to do well at a Model UN conference?
No. Agendas and study guides are published in advance so a first timer can prepare properly, and chairs mark research, procedure, negotiation and drafting rather than how loudly or often you speak. Every score sheet is published after the conference so you can see how the judgement was made.
When is the next MUN in Ahmedabad?
The next open MUN in Ahmedabad is Sabarmati MUN 2026, on 31 October and 01 November 2026 at Silver Oak University, Gota. It is open to students in classes 7 to 12 and to undergraduates from any college, at INR 1,999 until 20 October and INR 2,299 until 29 October 2026.

Yes. Sabarmati MUN 2026 is held at Silver Oak University, Gota, Ahmedabad, on 31 October and 01 November 2026, in collaboration with the university. Students from any school or college can register, not only Silver Oak students.
Is there a MUN for students in Gandhinagar?
Sabarmati MUN is held at Silver Oak University in Gota, on the S.G. Highway between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, so it is within easy reach of schools and colleges in both cities. Students from Gandhinagar register the same way as everyone else, individually or as a delegation.
